Left about 9am and headed for Brisbane CBD where I met up with a good friend Giles Wakefield. Giles has been living up in Brisbane for nearly 18 months after moving from the Northern Beaches.
Life is definitely treating him well and we went for a coffee at the Mount Cooltha.. a very nice drive up to the summit with a excellent view of Brisvegas.. Pictures to follow
After avoiding Giles's boss I returned him to his office and struck out for Labrador (Gold Coast)
Got to Labrador about 1pm to meet Scott. We moved to the local pub which overlooked the sea and started our long lunch... at 5pm.. Kim flew in from Sydney and we had to meet her back at the flat.. I was amazed by the number of people sitting in the pub on a Thursday afternoon... Queensland is very relaxed...
After getting everyone settled in, we went out again to the local curry house - Herbert was in heaven!! Bottles of red flowed alongside Rogan Josh and Roti... perfect!
At about 10pm.. Scott announced he was working at 5am (maybe queensland is not so relaxed) so we all staggered back to the unit and crashed!
Car Update
The car is now very settled... still very noisy when starting from cold.. think it is the fanbelt.. also the new clutch has now bedded in and there is a little "thunk" which probably needs adjusting
Today was a short journey of only 160kms... perfect.. with the long lunch :-)
